Progress So Far

Team Meeting

Members present: Declan McCarthy, Lindsay Murray, Niamh Begley and Marian Ahern
Date: Thursday 19th of November 2009
Location: CIT
Time: 1pm

We finally all met up this day and started on our project. We decided that Microsoft Publisher was the best option for us as we have used this application before and it's very user friendly and accessible. We decide that we would work together on creating the pages and later assign different task to different members.

We founded a logo for the top of each page for the we will use. It says "Desperate Housewives" and included a picture of the 4 main characters. We are not going to have a template rather we are going to use a different image/colour scheme for each of our pages. We feel that this would look more like a real website and give it some originality.

Page 1 - Home

This page took the longest for us to create as this is the main page of our website and has to make a lasting impression. We googled to find a picture of the Desperate Housewives which would be eye catching and colourfully attractive to use as our background. We found a appropriate image and used it. We also googled to find a style of writing which is different and which would not be available on the Microsoft package. We found a website which specialised in a huge range of alternative style's. We all agreed on one and used it for our opening page. We also included a image of the perfume bottle as this is what our website is based on.

Page 2 - The Girls Behind The Fragrance

For this page we looked at how the image of a woman has changed throughout the decades. We try'd to portray just how dramatically a woman's role has changed in society and how the Housewives symbolise the modern housewife. We used a image of a housewife from the 1950's in a apron doing her role of a dedicated wife.

Page 3 and 4 - Buy Deadly Sins Now!!

This is going to be 2 pages as we have a lot to include in this heading.
Page 3 - will have a background of the perfume bottle. This page describes the scent of the perfume and its commercial appeal to the modern housewife.

Page 4 - Describes different outlets were our perfume will be distributed and available. On this page also we give details of a exclusive offer to online customers who wish to buy the perfume. This page has no background as such but we have different logos of department stores where the perfume will be available.

After creating this page we felt we had a lot done and decided that we would stop for the day. The task of creating the "Who's Wearing It" page was given to Declan and Niamh and it was agreed that on Tuesday the 24th of November we would all meet again and review their work and continue on.
